A report in the Hampshire Chronicle on Saturday, April 1st, 1905, stated: ‘Eastleigh and Bishopstoke - The enlargement of the 1st Hants Volunteer Artillery Drill Hall is now practically completed, and a splendidly commodious building is the result, the depth of the main hall being close on 200 feet, while at the southern end are rooms for officers and men, &c. The hall suffers from being placed in a somewhat inconvenient position, being almost behind the Constitutional Club in Desborough-road.’

We have been informed that the Drill Hall in Leigh road is probably now in use as a dance hall. (2008)
