‘The Territorial force stationed in the town comprise the B Squadron of the Shropshire Yeomanry, who are drilled in the Drill hall, Oswald road; and the H Company 4th Battalion King’s (Shropshire Light Infantry) , who have head quarters at the Drill hall, Oswald road.’ (Kelly, 1913)

The Times, 7th July, 1930, stated that Lord Lewis, Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire, opened the new drill hall. The Times, Thursday August 14th, 1930 reported that the old drill hall at Oswestry was taken over by Wrexham and District Motor Transport
