According to the Dyffryn Clwyd Deanery website, the drill hall was opened in the 1890s. The foundation corner stone was laid by Mrs Cornwallis West, of Ruthin Castle and R Gregson Ellis, of Plas Newydd, whose names are just visible on the heavily eroded stone.

This drill hall is a simple, single storey, stone building set in a plot of grassy open land opposite the school. It is in use as a youth centre [2005]. It seems rather run down.
