Jakeman & Carver’s 1890 Directory of Hereford lists, ‘First Herefordshire Rifle Volunteer Corps, Armoury, Hall end.’ Kelly, 1913, lists ‘Armoury and Drill Hall, New street’ and also ‘Drill hall, Church street.’ Kelly, 1885, gives Church Street as the home of C Company 1st Rifle Volunteers
